This one or two-day seminar is a practical and linguistic look at the way English speakers negotiate and participate in meetings and discussions. The emphasis is on mastering the key language functions for debate and fluent speaking with the aim to practise, talk and receive feedback.
Language functions are the basis for any conversation or discussion and will include the ability to express opinion, explain, justify, defend, clarify, deal with interruptions, chair and at times remain diplomatic.
The course will also explore some standard discussion phrases, language for linking ideas when speaking and the role of “if” sentences (or conditionals) in the neogiation process.
The seminar takes place in your organisation and is suitable for any employee who has to participate in any meeting or negotiation in English. An intermediate level of English is required.
